Quick and Easy Photo Art - using the Aug LBD kit.

Happy day everyone!

I hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend, and was able to get some crafting in.

The first project I would like to share from the August Little Black Dress kit, is a fun and fast photo art idea.

I wrote up a quick tutorial, sharing how I created this quick project.  Here goes....

Quick and Easy Photo Art

This is a quick, easy, and super fun way to display your awesome family photos.  Instead of putting everything behind glass, or creating a scrapbooking layout, with a few quick steps you can take the ordinary, and make it extraordinary.

Step 1

Get any size frame you want, and cut a piece of scrapbook paper the size of the picture opening.

For my example, the frame was 10in X 10in, and the opening was 5in X 5in.  Therefore, I cut my paper slightly larger than the 5x5 opening.

Step 2

Next, we will create the rolled paper embellishment that sits on the outside of the frame.

Cut strips of patterned paper in the desired width and length.  My strips were approx. 2-2/14 in. wide by 2 in long.  The wider the strip, the wider the rolled paper embellishment, and the longer the strip, the wider (in diameter) of each roll.

Roll each strip and glue closed.

Step3

To create stability to the rolled paper embellishment, cut a piece of heavy cardstock or chipboard in a strip smaller than your rolled papers.  Glue each rolled paper to the chipboard strip.

Step4

Tie a piece of twine several times around the entire rolled paper embellishment and tie in a bow in front.

Slide photo behind the twine and glue to rolled paper embellishment.

Step5

Glue a heart/flower/decorative embellishment to a larger heart/flower/decorative embellishment, and add stick pin.

Step 6

Glue decorative embellishment to the front of the photo.

Add a strip of patterned paper to bottom of rolled paper embellishment and glue.

Step 7

Glue rolled paper embellishment (with attached photo, decorative embellishment, and strip of patterned paper) to front of frame glass.

Step 8

Enjoy

I can't wait to see your photo creations.  Have a great week and see ya soon.
