Moosie Monday and Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day to everyone!

I hope everyone has seen the Memorial Weekend Challenge (still up for another 5 days).  There is a wonderful RAK/Giveaway just for following and participating.  I can't wait to see your creations.  :)

I also hope you saw my sneaks of the June Little Black Dress kit.  It's another AWESOME kit.  Check it out here -

So on with the show.......................
For everyone that follows Moose and his ramblings on Mondays, I am sure you will love this weeks posting.
For those that know Moose, know that he thinks he is the ultimate dog.  (typical male, right? LOL).  So, he was approached by Dog's Quarterly (DQ) magazine (similar to 'Men's Quarterly) about appearing on their cover.  Of course, he said YES!.

Here is a sneak of the cover.

They also wanted to interview him on one of his favorite topics - licking.  Here is the article.

Disclaimer:  I need to clarify that DQ is not an actual magazine.  I had several people contact me after his Dog scented candles wondering if they were real. (hmmm....possible future business idea??)  As with all Moosie Monday posts, they are for entertainment purposes only.  They are the figment of my imagination only (and perhaps my entertainment only LOL).   I just have fun creating these silly Moosie Monday postings.  I hope you enjoy them too.

That's it for today.  Have a great Monday!

Memorial Weekend Challenge! RAK/Giveaway

Hi all my crafty friends!  I am so excited for this Memorial Weekend.  I am going home to visit family and attend my nieces HS Graduation!  Congrats Taylor!  In celebration of the long weekend, I thought it would be fun to have a Crafty challenge.  Here's the story and the challenge......

Every night when I go to bed, I look at this lamp that sits on my nightstand and think to myself, 'That design would make a cool layout.  I really need to create something using that as inspiration.'.

I love the funky, geometric design, and the simple, clean lines of the lamp.  (BTW - it came from IKEA!!!  LOVE that store).

Create a project using the lamps design, color, or style as inspiration.  Link your project as a comment to this posting.
Not interested in participating in the challenge?  Become a follower and leave a comment saying you have done so.  If you are already a follower, leave a comment that you are already a follower.

You will recieve one chance for the RAK for each project you create (and link provided) and for becoming a follower (or leaving a comment that you already are).  I will randomly choose a winner using a Random Number Generator.

1.  One entry for participating in the challenge and leaving a link to the specific blog posting in the comments below.
2.  One entry for becoming a follower and leaving a comment that you are now a follower.
3.  One entry for leaving a comment that you are already a follower.

The challenge is open until June 3rd at 12:00noon (Mountain Standard Time).

To get you started on the challenge and get those creative juices flowing, here is the layout I created for the challenge.

Titled 'A Dogs Life' (how appropriote)

I can't wait to see what you create!!

Oh is a sneak of the RAK...

Have a great week and enjoy!

Nine things....

Today, thru my internet blog searching, (I was searching on Liz Lamoreux - the author of "Inner Excavation"), she had a real cool, older posting on 'Nine' interviews.  The idea behind the interview is to ask nine different questions and the interviewee would answer in photos.
(here's the link to her blog - )

I thought this was a really cool idea, so I thought I would list the nine questions below, with my reply to each one.  I would LOVE to hear your comments.
(p.s. All the photos are mine except the cookie picture - that was from a random search on Oatmeal cookies images - YUM)

1.  Who are you?

2.  What do you love about where you live?

3.  What might your perfect afternoon look like?

4.  If you had an hour alone in your studio/creative space, what would you do?

5.  Right now, what are some of your favorite things?

6.  What foods nourish your soul?

7.  When you need to simply take a breath and reground yourself, what do you do?

8.  How do you nurture your creative dreams?

9.  Does your heart have a secret you want to share?

I leave Friday for my niece's graduation.  Stay tuned for the challenge and RAK on Friday and a fantastic Moosie Monday.

Bye bye for now.

iheartfaces Photo Challenge - no faces, only flowers :)

The iheartfaces Photo Challenge this week is faces, only flowers.  LOVE THIS!

Since this isn't their normal challenge, I can post more than one picture.  This was a fun one since I've been to so many places surrounded by beautiful flowers and greenery.

Here is my submissions for the challenge.  I would love to hear your comments.

Both of these 2 were taken in Amsterdam, outside the Rijks Museum.

This picture was taken during the 'Tulip Festival' at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, Utah.  I had some fun with this picture.  The first one is SOOC, the 2nd and 3rd ones were just for fun.

You should check out the challenge - lots of great pictures!

Artist of the Month - K2 Scrapbook Studio

Happy Sunday!  How are my crafty friends?  The weather is rainy and cold here in Utah today, so what else to do??  but scrapbook!!!  (I know, really rough life :)

I thought I'd share some exciting news.  A few weeks ago I saw a posting from K2 Scrapbook Studio (in Sarasota, FL) looking for scrapbookers interested in being featured as the 'Artist of the Month'.  They wanted to provide their local supporters and friends on facebook and blog, new faces and creative inspiration.  So.....I sent my submission in and viola!!  I became their first 'Artist of the Month'.  They shared some of my favorite layouts and sent me some yummy Webster Pages goodies.  So I promised them I would create a layout using some of the RAK they sent.

The layout below was created with a little bit of everything.  Webster Pages, Graphic 45, Melody Ross, Prima, and Basic Grey.  Everyone's favorites.

Thank you to 2 very willing friends at work that share photos of their precious daughters.  You have all seen these adorable girls in several of my layouts.  They provide much needed inspiration since since I have 2 grown boys who don't cooperate with picture taking much anymore.

If you are interested, here is a link to their blog.  Check 'em out.

Stayed tuned for a fun RAK giveaway and challenge coming up this weekend.  I would like to see you spread the word and have your crafty friends be a part of it.

Have a fantastic day!

Challenge Heaven :)

Happy Saturday everyone!  I hope the weather is beautiful and your health is good.

I wanted to share a couple of layouts created for several color challenges that are fun.  I would love to hear your comments.  They are always welcome.

'Note to Self'  TCR#59
These colors aren't my norm.  Pretty pastel for me, but thought I'd give a good 'ole College try.  I didn't use the exact color palette, but twisted it to make it my own.

'I have a secret' CCG #193
Even though these are pastels too, I offset the pastel feel with the basic black and white.  I've had this picture for sometime and have always wanted to scrap it  I thought this was perfect for this color combo this week.

'Summertime Treats'
This layout was created with a bunch of Glitz 'Afternoon Muse' - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this collection.  Reminds of childhood and the innocence of being a kid.

Have a crafty weekend and take care.
