Hi my crafty friends....

The challenge this week over at the Color Combos Galore is a fun one.  We are wrapping up our month of celebrating all things beach with a calming, monochromatic palette. Our Designer's Challenge is a Focus on Recipe and is inspired by various elements in the Inspiration Photo--use the following on your project: wood, a title in capital letters, a striped item, a transparency, and create the effect of a ledge on your project.

Welcome to the Creative Soup "Fun in the Sun" Crop and Blog Hop.

We all decided to get together and have blog hop with a twist! Each member will have a part of a recipe to make a layout. Go around to each of the blogs in the hop, and you'll have all the instructions for a great challenge! Put at least 6 of the recipe elements on a layout/project, and link it back to the challenge thread HERE.

My recipe element is to include stars (either punched, cut, drawn, etc.) on your layout.

Take a look at Laura's layout, for a great example of this. This layout is from the 5.9 Mojo Monday Challenge - Get Sketchy, Anna Bowkis/Pencil Lines.

I was lovin' the star theme so much, I created a layout using my totally awesome Martha Stewart star punch. 

I love using the negative of punches, packaging, stickers, etc.  They can be used in so many creative ways. 

I took this photo several years ago on a trip between PA and OH.  It was a cold January day, and the only sound at the Flight 93 memorial was the wind.

This past week, my boys came to Utah to visit me before school started up again.  We made a short trip to Moab to see the amazing natural sites at Arches National Park and Dead Horse State Park.  I thought it would be fun to share some pictures from the trip.  (I'm sure you will see some of these in future layouts)
