CSI Case File #13 Waiting for Spring

Hello everyone! I am back from my Asia trip - and whew...I'm exhausted.
Today, I wanted to share Case File #13, over at CSI - Colors, Stories, and Inspiration.

The challenge this week was a muted, gorgeous color palette.  The evidence and journaling prompts were super FAB too.

Here is the challenge.

Michele Singh has created another set of amazing coordinates to go with the challenge this week.  Check them out here.  Here's a peek of the coordinates.

For my layout this week, I choose to use the following evidence:

1.  Make/Use a pinwheel.
This was super fun to make.  I've never tried making one before, and was surprised by how easy it was to make one.  Here are several tutorials on how to make your very own pinwheel.
Tutorial #1
Tutorial #2

2.  Use string, yarn, fiber or twine.
I used both twine and a bread twist tie.  I love to recycle and re-purpose household items.

Here is the 8.5 x 11 layout and some close-ups.

The journaling prompt I used for my layout, was to write one central idea and four supporting details.  I choose to write 4 different types of  definitions of the word 'Spring'.

I hope you enjoyed the challenge this week.  Check here for the other DT projects.

As always, your comments are appreciated and welcomed.  Thank you for stopping by.

Crafty Steals March Guest Designer :)

Hello!  Last month, I was asked by Crafty Steals, to be their guest designer for March.  If you have never visited their site, you need to check it out.  Every day, they offer a new deal, and the deals are super sweet.

They sent me a bunch of American Crafts paper, stickers, and embellishments, and said 'CREATE'  :)  Don't you just love those words?

Here's what they shared over at their blog yesterday.

Bright, colorful, and fun!  :)

Thanks for stopping by today.  I'll be MIA for a week.  As you read this, I'm flying over the Pacific in a big plane, on my way to Taiwan and Hong Kong.  See you in a week.  Take care.

CSI Case File #12 Moosie

Happy Friday!

Friday is reveal days over at CSI - Colors, Stories, and Inspiration.  The theme for March has been 'March Winds".  The challenge today used a monochromatic theme.  {I just love those}.

Without further is the the challenge.

Isn't that photo divine??

Here is my layout.

Our very own Michele Singh has created CSI Coordinates.  Check these out...

They are intended to work with each challenge.  Hop on over and check out the DT reveal.  We can't wait to see what you create.  Thank you for taking the time to stop by.  Have a great one!

Pretty Little Studio Sketch Challenge #38

Happy Thursday and Happy Day (since I have the day off). :)

It's obvious that I am loving the sketch and inspiration challenges over at Pretty Little Studio.  This week was no exception.

Here is the fab-u-lous sketch...

Isn't it great?  I choose to create a card using the sketch.  I scrunched the sketch up and layered the pieces over each other, using tags for the 'photos' in the sketch.

I LOVE these vintage cut-outs!!!  They are freakin adorable.

I hope you enjoyed it!  Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

a little bit of heaven, a little bit of boyhood, and a little bit of heart

Happy Sunday!  I hope all is well in your part of the world!  :)  I've had some down time this weekend, so I was able to participate in a couple of sketch challenges, and create a layout, just because. :)

My first share is for Sketch Challenge #37, over at Pretty Little Studio.  If you have followed me for a little bit, y'all know I love Pretty Little Studio.  Their product is super cute and so fun to create with.

This fabulous sketch is by Keri Babbitt!  LOVE IT!!

And my layout...
I moved things around a bit.  I opted for 2 photos, instead of 3, and move the banner at the top of the page, to the center.

Don't ya just love this photo of my dad as a wee lad.  :)

My second layout is for the sketch challenge over at Crafty Steals this weekend.

Here is the awesome sketch.

And my layout.

Once again, I changed up the sketch, using 2 photos instead of three, and made a partial banner instead of full page one.

p.s. Check back next Saturday for some awesome news about Crafty Steals.  :)

My last layout was created because I finally got my hands on some of the new OA Sasparilla.  Can you say INSTANT LOVE?!?!?

I can't wait to create more layouts using this collection.  It is so fun and cute.

That's all for today!  I hope you have a wonderfully crafty week!  Thanks for stopping by.

CSI Case File #11 'Tomboy'

Happy Friday my crafty friends!

I just love Fridays because they are Case File Reveal days over at CSI.  Let's get right to the reveal, shall we?

Here's another SUPER FAB challenge!  Love everything about this one - the colors, the evidence, and the testimony. (how fun is this one??)

Here are the elements I used for this Case File.

1.  Use paint or other medium on the background.  I used distress ink with water and stamped the ledger design  on the background.
2.  Use butterfly accents.
3.  Use paper with vintage images - okay, so I stretched this one a bit.  I used a vintage photo instead.
4.  Use tearing.

1.  Document  a story from your childhood.  Journaling reads:
"I can remember being a tomboy most of my childhood.  I was more interested in cars, play guns, and getting dirty, than dolls, dress-up, & playing mommy.  Some things you never outgrow'"

Layouts like this are some of my faves...a little of this, and a little of that.  :)

Check out what the DT created this week.  You will love it.

Have a fantastic weekend! and thank you for stopping by.
