Studio Calico + MME = One Amazing Kit

Hello, hello, and happy Thursday!

As promised, I'm here today with the full reveal of my layouts created with the June Studio Calico kit.  Last week, I shared that Studio Calico and My Mind's Eye were teaming up for a special feature on the SC blog and today the feature goes live.  Wanna see it??  Check it out here.... SC and MME Blog Post

The June Studio Calico kit has alot of yummy and delicious My Mind's Eye, so SC asked Jana and I if we would be interested in creating projects with their June kit to share with all of you.  And of course, we said YES!!

Ready to see my projects?  Here we go....

First up is titled 'bath time'.  Who is the little rugrat in the tub?  (hee hee)  Oh yea...can I say I LOVE this woodgrain white cardstock....It is simply divine!

Next is titled, 'wide open spaces'.  Don'tcha just love those little butterflies?

Next is titled, 'hey girl, what's on your mind?'  This was one of those papers you hoard in your collection because it is just TOO AWESOME to use, know what I mean?

My next project is a little card I made.  What??  She said card again?  What is happening?  :)

And lastly, another layout titled, 'fur, 4 legs, & forever'.  Featuring little Miss Flikka.

Now how was that for a totally amazing kit?

I would like to thank Studio Calico for giving me this great opportunity to play along with them this month.  I really enjoyed creating with the kit and would love the chance to play along again.

2PS Sketch Challenge and Birthday Blog Hop Winner

Happy Tuesday (whoops, I almost wrote Monday - this short week is getting me confused)  :)

I've been off since last Wednesday visiting with my sister.  We spent alot of time seeing the local SLC sights and alot of time scrapbooking!  Sounds like a great way to spend some time off, yes?

Alot of my projects can't be shared just yet, but here is one I can share.  I really loved Amy Heller's sketch this week, over at 2PS, so I thought I'd play along.

Here is the great sketch...

And my take.

I really moved things around a bit...I rotated the sketch to the right, then used a horizontal photo instead of a vertical one.  I love sketches like this.  They are so versatile and can adapt to any type of layout.

Here are some close-ups...

Great sketch, huh?

So I'm sure if you stayed with me till the end, you wanna know who won the PB Birthday Blog Hop prize pack?  (this is my personal giveaway - not the $10 GC from the PB which will be drawn tomorrow)

And the winner is....

Patricia - CONGRATS!  Please send me an email at adogslife13(at) with your shipping details.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and for taking the time to wish Sarah Happy Birthday!

I have more shares and news coming this week (and maybe another giveaway), so stay tuned!

Have a great one!

Pretty Little Studio Challenges #40 & #47

Happy Sunday everyone!  And Happy Memorial Weekend to my crafty friends in the U.S.

Just a quick share today with my projects for this week's PLS challenges.  First up, is my layout for sketch challenge #47.

Here's the awesome sketch...

And my take on the sketch...

I kept fairly close to the sketch, except for using a photo strip in place of the 2 photos and moving the title to the right side of the photos, instead of the left.

Here are some close-ups...

For my second project, I made a card for Inspiration Challenge #40.

Here is the inspiration...

I was inspired by the coffee rings with drips of coffee, and the brown in the inspiration photo.

For the background of my card, I misted using a circle stencil and completed it with paint splatters.    I cut circles from patterned paper and layered over a misted circle background.

Here is my completed card...

and some close-ups....

That's all for today!  I hope you have an enjoyable weekend and thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Have a great one!

the Sandbox...MME On the Sunny Side

Happy Wednesday!

I'm up on the MME blog today, where we are talking about 'Clustering'.  The DT was challenged to create layouts using clustering.  The real trick is knowing what is too much or too little.

Here is what I shared...

Clustering is a easy, fun way to add visual interest to your layout. When clustering, using coordinated embellishments makes it super easy. I like to cluster in odd numbers, such as three.

As you can see from my layout, the houses and brad banners are clustered together in threes. Using similar design elements, such as circles, squares or layers, you can also achieve a clustering effect. For example. I've punched 2 circles from the 'On the Sunny Side' collection, and added a circular chipboard element to create a circle cluster.

You can also cluster photos, patterned paper, or embellishments by arranging them on one side of the paper. Clustering them in this manner creates a linear feel. By clustering elements on your layout/card, you connect all parts of the layout or card to create a cohesive project.

Hop on over to the MME blog, and check out what Karen created.

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!
