Love My Tapes Fall Blog Hop

Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper are getting crafty over the next couple of days to bring you tons of inspiration using Love My Tapes and Authentique Paper!

To get you into the holiday spirit, we will be sharing projects from the LMT DT on the Love My Tapes blog, and the Love My Tapes Design Team will be sharing additional projects with you on their blogs with a Fall Blog Hop.
Be sure and stop back every day on the Love My Tapes and Authentique Blog for more inspiration this week!
I had the pleasure of creating with the 'Peaceful' collection from Authentique.  Can you say LOVE?  I saw this at CHA and it was on my 'must have' list!

I've been diggin triangles of all kinds lately.  Big ones, small ones, long ones, and short ones!
For this layout, I die-cut several sized triangles and began layering them all over my layout.  Actually in hindsight, they resembled little pine tree which was perfect for my photo.  (love that when that happens)  :)

I stitched them down and popped some off the page.
To offset the stark white of the background, I used these 2 washi tapes to ground my layout and pull it all together.

This was truly an 'Amazing Day'.  The weather was gorgeous and the fall colors were at their peak!

My next project was also created with the 'Peaceful' collection.  I used the same 'Blk/Wht Dot' washi tape as in my layout and used it to frame my card.

Are you ready for more inspiration?  Let’s start the HOP.  Shall we?
Be sure to stop by all blogs for a chance to win some Love My Tape goodies.

Ink Splatter Art with MME!

Hi!  It's Friday and only 6 more days till CKU!  :)

I was up with a project on the MME blog on Wednesday that I totally love!  I made Ink Splatter Art with a few mini canvases and MME!  What a perfect combination!  These were so much fun, I might have to create a collage of them for my scrappy room.  :)

I love getting messy with paints, sprays, and inks.  I love the look of splatters and mists, and am always looking for ways to create cool and fun artsy backgrounds for my projects.

I used the following technique on layouts and it creates a great splatter look, but I thought it would be fun to experiment on some scrapbook studio wall art.

Step One
Gesso several mini (2 in x 2 in) canvas panels.

Step Two
This is where the fun starts.  Create an Ink Splatter using the following technique.  Let dry.

Step Three
Layer Chipboard elements, Buttons, Enamel Dots, Stickers, Brads, or Doilies to create a 'statement'.

Step Four
Layer Step Three over Splattered Canvases and place on patterned paper.

Step Five
Frame.  I usually leave the glass out of the frame because of the 3D dimension of the piece.

I had so much fun creating this Splatter Art, I created a second one.

What ways can you think of using Ink Splatters and/or mini canvases on your next project.  I would LOVE to see them.
Thanks for stopping by!  Have a wonderful day!

Love My Tapes October Challenge - Off The Page

Hello and Happy Thursday!  I am so happy it is Thursday because next Wednesday, I will be on my way to CKU in Stamford, CT with my sister and her BFF.  I can't wait to meet some of my crafty friends and heros during the event!  I'll be counting down the days till next week.  :)

Today, I wanted to share a project I made for the Love My Tapes October Challenge, Off The Page.

The deadline is Friday, so there is still time to play along this month.  A winner will be selected at random for a chance to win some yummy Love My Tapes product.  I don't know about you, but I am crazy obsessed for washi - and a chance to win some - why would you pass that up?  :)

I layered strips of several washi tapes on a piece of 12z12 cardstock for my base.

Using a die-cut machine, I cut a design on another piece of 12x12 cardstock and adhered it to the top of the tape sheet.

Doesn't that look great with the washi 'peeking out' from behind the die cut shape? Super easy too.

Hop on over to the LMT blog for all the details.  I can't wait to see what you create!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by!  Have a great day!

Daily Routine - Creating Keepsakes

Today is the day. The November/December 2012 issue of Creating Keepsakes hits the newsstands, and I can finally share the layout I contributed to the issue.

The challenge was to use envelopes in a fun and creative way.  I created little mini 'canvases' with the kraft envelopes and created a layout about my daily 'morning' routine.

There’s a Sneak Peek of the issue on the Creating Keepsakes website.

You can also find it here...
· Print issue:
· Digital issue:
And special, online content and downloads accompanying the issue are on the Creating Keepsakes website.

I feel honored to be part of this wonderful magazine and to be sharing the pages with my fellow artists!

Thank you for allowing me to share in my excitement!  :)

Have a wonderful day!

It's raining scary pumpkins, black cats, and Halloween!

Happy, Happy Tuesday!

I love October!  and I love Halloween!

Today, I want to share 2 projects I completed for Pretty Little Studio, using their Scaredy Cat collection.  This is one of my favorite Halloween collections and I love the cute, whimsical die-cuts, and the great traditional Halloween colors, with pops of purple and monster green!

My first project was created with only 2 sheets of paper, a frame, glitter, crackle and shimmer paint!

Step One:

Cut individual pieces from ONE sheet of Costume paper. For my example, I cut the trick or treaters, the 2 witches, the pumpkin, the owl, and the word 'spooky'

Step Two:

Embellishment cut pieces, with glitter, crackle paint, and shimmer paint.

Step Three:

Embellish the SECOND sheet of as desired.  For my example, I applied crackle paint on the apples and around the 'spooky' title.

Step Four:

Adhere cut pieces to SECOND sheet with pop dots, placing them directly over the same image on the 2nd sheet.

Step Five:

Frame and enjoy!
My second project is a layout I created for this weeks Sketch Challenge, over at PLS.

I love these sketches by Keri....they are so versatile and super wonderful.

I 'expanded' on the spider web theme for the sketch this week, by adding black mist in the corners of my paper, and layering a large die cut spider web over various Halloween patterned paper.

Instead of 2 photos, I used one, and replaced the second photo spot with several Halloween word ribbon labels.

Aren't the Scaredy Cat Die Cuts and banner tags adorable?  I love the design and colors!

I hope my projects put you in the Halloween spirit!  With only one more week before the big Trick or Treat night get out those scary decorations and fun costumes!
