Face Off - Artist Collaboration

Hi...

Happy Friday!

Today, I have a super fun post to share with y'all.  If you follow me on Facebook, you know I host various artist collaborations.  In the past, these collaborations were a formed with multiple artists.  For 2017, I thought I would change it up, and share several one-on-one collaborations.  Today is the first collaboration for 2017.

I am collaborating with my dear friend and amazing artist, Michele Kosciolek.  We challenged each other to create a 4 x 4 mini book, using faces as the inspiration jumping point.  I had SO much fun creating this project as it shares my love for making mini books, and for my growing love for drawing faces.

Let's take a peek at how I was inspired by the theme.

The front and back covers were scraps of leather, hand-stitched with a blanket stitch.  I also added decorative machine stitching to the covers, as well as the inside pages.

Using various stamps as a guide, I embellished each stamped image, making each face unique and different.

Each face was painted using pan pastels and Neo Color II crayons.  I love the mix of the two textures.

Here's a peek at more of the decorative stitching added to each page.

And more of my finished faces.

I really love how my book turned out, and the different expressions I was able to create from the same stamped image.

Want to see how Michele was inspired by the challenge?  Hop on over to her blog and check out her mini book!  It is super duper incredible!  ♥♥♥

Thanks for stopping by today.  Stay tuned for my next artist collaboration.  It will definately be 'out of the box'.  ;)
